Volleying for Mental Health

A Tennis Tournament & Fundraiser Benefiting Mental Health America in Montgomery

Mental Health America in Montgomery will host a Tennis Tournament on Friday, May 5th, at Wynlakes Country Club. Please join us for a day of “Cinco de Mayo” fun competition and help us raise funds for mental health programs that are vital to our community. These programs help people with mental illness in the River Region learn community living skills that contribute to their recovery and educate the community about mental health and mental illness.

Mental Health America in Montgomery (MHA-M), an affiliate of the national Mental Health America, works to address mental health needs in the Montgomery area. Formed in 1951, we are a nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Directors representing diverse segments of the community. We work toward 1) improved care and treatment of persons with mental illness, 2) empowerment to recover and enhance quality of life, and 3) education about the promotion of good mental health and recovery from mental illness.

MHA-M operates the Friendship and Open Door Clubs for persons with serious mental illness to learn recovery skills; our signature Operation Santa Claus that provides gifts for Montgomery Area Mental Health Authority clients; and our Outreach/Education Program that provides community education about mental illness, monthly Round Tables and annual conference that offer continuing education (with CE credits) for health and social service professionals.
